There’s a vehicle auction coming up in Scottsdale, AZ, later this month, and one of the trucks up for bid is a Peterbilt 379 that movie fans might recognize – it’s the stunt truck used as Optimus Prime in the first Transformers movie.
According to Barrett-Jackson, the group that’s auctioning off the truck, Optimus isn’t currently street legal and is being sold “as is” and “with all faults.”
But as Overdrive pointed out, the Peterbilt is a 1992 model year, so Optimus Prime is exempt from the ELD mandate.
There are more pictures over on the Barrett-Jackson site, plus you can register to bid on a little piece of movie history.
